SAP customers are eager to expand their operations by migrating to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, with the goal of transforming their businesses. More than half (53%) of SAP customers either use SAP S/4HANA (31%) or are in the process of migrating (22%). More than a quarter (27%) plan to upgrade, but have not started the process and plan to migrate within the next two years. About half (40%) of customers also plan to increase their managed service provider (ASER) usage when they migrate, which is likely to help them realize more benefits during and after their migration than organizations that do not. Only 18% of SAP customers are still deciding whether to upgrade.
As customers examine how to improve their organizations, they are also considering RISE with SAP, which offers business transformation as a service in an end-to-end package. Nearly half of SAP customers (47%) are somewhat familiar with RISE with SAP and 2% are very familiar with it. SAP customers need more information about RISE with SAP to better understand the offering, as 41% have heard of it but are not familiar. In addition, 10% have never heard of RISE with SAP.
More than a third of organizations (35%) are investigating RISE with SAP, but 34% are unlikely to consider it. Currently, only 2% of organizations are moving forward with purchasing RISE with SAP, further demonstrating that SAP customers need to be better informed about the offering and how it can transform their business.
Engaging a Managed Service Provider (ASER) strengthens business transformations.
While many SAP customers have implemented SAP S/4HANA or are on their way to doing so, they need more information about RISE with SAP before they can fully optimize their SAP landscape. In addition, working with a trusted ASER can help organizations understand and receive benefits from both. As organizations learn more about RISE with SAP, the number of customers moving to the platform is likely to increase in the coming years as more organizations realize its benefits and demonstrate concrete results.
